Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), popularly known as IP University, is a premier affiliating university in Delhi. For the 2026–2027 academic session, the university has introduced several major updates, including 24 new-age programs and a total intake of over 43,000 seats across more than 130 affiliated colleges and University Schools of Studies (USS).

Entrance Exam Pathways

GGSIPU follows a priority-based admission system. National-level entrance exams or IPU CET are considered primary channels. CUET is typically considered only if seats remain vacant.

IPU CET is conducted for selected programs such as:

3. CUET (Secondary Channel)

CUET scores are considered only after the primary channel merit list is exhausted. For competitive colleges like MSIT or MAIT, appearing for CET is strongly recommended.

Eligibility Criteria

• UG Courses: Minimum 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST). English must be a subject.
• PG Courses: Relevant Bachelor's degree with 50–60% marks.
• Age Limit: 21 years (UG) and 35 years (PG) as of August 1, 2026.

Step-by-Step Application Process

1. Visit ipu.admissions.nic.in or ipu.ac.in.
2. Select course category (CET or National Level).
3. Upload scanned photo, signature, and left thumb impression (< 80kb).
4. Pay ₹2,500 per course (separate payment for different CET codes).
5. Download admit card 7–10 days before the exam.

Seat Reservation Policy

• Delhi Region (85%): Candidates who passed qualifying exam from Delhi-based institutions.
• Outside Delhi (15%): Candidates from outside NCT of Delhi.
• Category Reservation: SC (15%), ST (7.5%), OBC (Delhi region specific institutes).

Counseling & Seat Allotment

• Centralized online counseling process.
• Choice filling and multiple allotment rounds.
• Freeze: Accept and secure allotted seat.
• Float: Accept but wait for higher preference.

Sliding & Spot Round

• Sliding Round: Automatic upgrade based on higher preferences.
• Spot Round: Final opportunity; often offline at Dwarka Campus. If allotted, seat must be accepted.

Management Quota (MQ) Admissions

Management Quota applies only to self-financing institutes and is strictly merit-based.

• 10% seats reserved in private colleges.
• Application made directly to the college.
• Based on qualifying exam marks.
• Not available in USS or government institutes.

2026–27 Fee Structure (University Schools - USS)

Additional charges include refundable security deposit and annual examination fee (~₹3,000). Private affiliated colleges may charge ₹1.2–1.8 lakh annually depending on the program.
